Brad graduated from Abilene Christian University, where he played football, in 1983. He has served as an athletic director, head football coach and teacher during his career in education. His impressive overall record, along with four Texas State Championship appearances and two state titles, speak for the success of his teams. Despite his notable accomplishments in sports, he is most driven by the personal success of his athletes stating, “I want our guys to grow up and develop into fine players on the field, but more importantly, I want them to turn into great husbands, dads, business leaders, church leaders and men that make this world a better place.”
Brad employs this philosophy in his personal life as much as his professional life. He and Debra, his wife of 26 years, have raised three sons who are all high performers, both on and off the field. His oldest son, Colt, played for the University of Texas and set national records for most wins ever by a quarterback and highest completion percentage ever by a quarterback along with 47 other national, Big 12 and school records. He is currently the starting quarter-back for the Cleveland Browns. Chance, a receiver at Hardin-Simmons University, was a three-time All State receiver in high school and played for state championships in football, basketball and track. Case lead his high school team to the state championship and was named to multiple All State teams. He graduated with honors and enrolled at the University of Texas to follow in his brother’s footsteps as quarterback for the Longhorns.
Serving as a Teen Leadership teacher and consultant, Brad has been involved with the Flippen Group for over 15 years. In 2010, Brad came on full time as Athletic Director of Flippen Sports. He and Debra reside in Graham, Texas.

Chad Chmelar
Director of Sports Operations
Chad Chmelar is dedicated to living out the core principles of the Flippen Group. He is constantly looking for ways to become the best he can be while serving the greater purpose of our mission. “Building relationships and processes that bring out the best in people” is not only our company’s brand promise; it’s a way of life for Chad. |
|
|
| |
Chad is passionate about challenging people to live each day with purpose. He loves to stretch people’s thinking. As he says, “It is never too early or too late to become a leader. Every day, you have the opportunity to impact the lives of others. Dream big! Be intentional! Make every day and every second count!”
Born into a family with a long list of athletes, Chad followed in their footsteps. He played football, basketball, baseball, and track. It was impossible to find a sport he didn’t like, and therefore, he played them all. He earned a football scholarship, as a tight end, to Baylor University. Upon graduating with a Business Management degree, he moved to California to complete his Masters. Upon completion of his Masters, he worked in the non-profit sector and he owned a retail bookstore in both Colorado Springs and Denver.
Despite his determination and focus to lead a successful business, Chad was compelled to join forces with The Flippen Group in 2005. He has been quoted saying, “I can accomplish more with my life by being a part of this team than I ever could on my own!” He has served in many capacities at The Flippen Group including real estate and office management. He played a key role on a literary team that propelled The Flip Side book to the New York Times Best Seller list. Recently, he helped launch a new division of the company, Flippen Sports, which focuses on the development of coaches and athletes.
Chad employs the same passion and philosophy he has on life both professionally and personally. Annually, he leads teams on intense journeys into the wilderness of Colorado to summit the highest mountain peaks while, at the same time, inviting men to become leaders and discover things deep within themselves.
When not working, Chad enjoys time with his family, traveling the world, reading books, and photography. He resides in College Station, Texas with his wife Joy and two sons Colton and Hagin.
Chad’s mission in life: “To be a hero to his wife and children and to be a mentor that empowers people to shape history!”

Scott Centala
Senior Performance Consultant
Scott joins the Flippen Sports Group after a highly successful playing and coaching career yielding unprecedented success at the highest levels of both the male and female sports industries. “I am passionate about helping others get out of their own way to become all of who they were meant to be.” |
|
|
| |
On the baseball side of the world, Scott draws upon his professional playing career as a pitcher with both the Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins organizations. He is currently growing MLB organizations by redefining how to develop players, coaches, and scouts to truly connect the amateur draft with minor league development and major league performance. Prior to being an All-Star pitcher during his minor league career, Scott was a captain for the 1989 Texas A&M University baseball team, one of the most highly acclaimed baseball teams in collegiate history that saw the Aggies achieve their first number one national ranking in school history.
On the women’s side, Scott coached the University of Washington to six appearances at the NCAA College World Series while also capturing a Pac-10 Championship and guiding players to more than 24 All-American awards during that eight year span. Beyond his impact here in the United States, Scott has consulted for professional teams in Japan and mentored numerous male and female Olympic athletes and coaches from the United States, Canada, England, Italy, and Japan.
“Personal growth is the foundation to which professional performance stands on to create not only sustained success, but happiness as well. I believe our own journeys are ground in the relationship we have with ourselves first and foremost and only then can we be intentional about extending our influence to others.”
Scott is the proud father of two amazing leaders in their own right: his daughter Sydney and son Spencer.
